Mr. Ross Boerner began as our Director of Music Ministries in August of 2014. In addition to the planning and selection of our worship music; he is our organist and the director of our Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, and Orchestra.
Along with a degree in Secondary Education, Mr. Boerner has studied choral conducting at Westminster Choir College under Dr. James Jordan and with Dr. Giselle Wyers of the University of Washington. Further musical studies have included work under several nationally known choral artists including David Fanshaw, Alice Parker, Donald Neuen, Moses Hogan, and Dr. Eph Ely of the University of Missouri.
Ross has years of training and experience on the pipe organ, piano and the trombone. Being primarily a vocalist, his credits include being twice ranked nationally by audition, having performed solos in England’s Arundel Cathedral and Westminster Abby as well as the Notre Dame Cathedral in France. He has performed by selection in three concerts in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall, including the premiere of David Fanshaw’s African Sanctus.
Locally, Mr. Boerner is also the Artistic Director and Conductor of The Norristown Chorale; a community-based choir. He was also proud to be the founder and Artistic Director of an annual community hymn festival program called MontCo Hymn Festivals. Ross also teaches piano lessons, and serves as a substitute teacher in local school districts.
