Worship

Good Shepherd offers a schedule of exciting worship opportunities to fulfill your spiritual needs.

Sunday mornings-from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend--there is one worship service which begins at 9:30 am. Throughout the rest of the year, we have two worship services at 8:30 and 11:00 am on Sunday morning.

A Christian education hour is available for all ages beginning at 9:40 am on Sunday mornings (except during the summer). Classes are available for ages 2-adult..

Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month and all special holidays of the Church calendar.

Our traditional worship service follows the traditional Lutheran Book of Worship or the more contemporary With One Voice. A weekly bulletin is provided at each service listing the Order of Service, a weekly calendar of events, a listing of those persons assisting during the service, and Church notes.

During the services there is a children's sermon which many times is interactive, keeping our young ones interested and excited about worship. For the younger children who may need it, a nursery is provided during services by caring adult members of the congregation and our youth.

Music is an important part of the worship service. The Good News Kids Choir meets to rehearse on Thursday evenings from October through April. They sing during the worship services several times each year. The Shepherd's Ringers Handbell Choir, various bell solos and adult choir perform throughout the year.

There are many opportunities to be involved in worship at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, including serving as lector, Communion Assistant, acolyte, as a member of the altar guild, usher, greeter, nursery staff or as a part of the special music provided during each service.

Please contact the Worship & Music Committee through the Church office if you would like to become involved in our worship services. Contact the Church office at 610-265-4545 or email gskopstaff@verizon.net.
